We’re by no means stunned by the fact that another airhead celebrity has taken it upon themselves to enlighten the American people about just how stupid we are (or might be) when it comes to politics, but few of them have ever suggested that voters on the opposite side are suicidal. Apparently, Ashley Judd, who by my estimates hasn’t done anything for the better part of a year, feels it’s necessary to annoy us with her opinions on the presidential race – and took my opinion of her down a few notches in doing so. She’s a very good actress and she brings an air of elegance and respectability to the screen – when she is acting. (But I’m also slightly biased because she started her career in film on an episode of Star Trek: The Next Generation.)
Judd had a caustic view of Sen. John McCain’s attitude toward women, based on his rating by Planned Parenthood and his voting record on “reproductive health.” “McCain has a zero record on voting against women’s privacy and reproductive health. Senator Obama has a 100 percent voting record for women’s privacy and reproductive health,” she said. “And the only reason that McCain has a zero is organizations like Planned Parenthood couldn’t find a lower number. And a woman voting for McCain and Palin is like a chicken voting for Colonel Sanders.”
Unfortunately, here she does what all Hollywood starlets assume is their God-given duty: inject their personal opinions into the national debate. Spewing talking points that have been spoon-fed to you by the rest of your Hollywood pals is something best left to Big Media. Besides Ashley, it’s widely known that being a Marxist Democrat in the tank for Obama gives you premature wrinkles and liver spots.
